TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – JUNE xx, 2011 – Giraffic Inc., dedicated to the development of the Next Generation Intelligent Fully Distributed Video-on-Demand Acceleration Technology, today announced that it has reached over 500,000 end-users in less than three months since launch in March and is gaining over 10,000 new users per day. 

The company also reported that initial tests at the half dozen installed sites show that the Giraffic Video Acceleration Cloud is accelerating and offloading 65-80% of total user base traffic from customer’s networks onto Giraffic’s Fully Distributed Video Streaming Cloud.  Some of the other promising results shown in recent deployments include:

• Over 3 Terabytes on average per day of video traffic are being delivered exclusively via Giraffic’s cloud, doubling every month since launch.

• User streaming experience improves substantially: re-buffering pauses and time to initial playback reduced, despite the extreme “long-tail” nature of video consumption, where the average number of views per video file was just a few dozen.

• Bandwidth costs expected to save approximately 50% of entire CDN bandwidth as the Giraffic Video Accelerator continues rollout.

Giraffic was the first VOD technology to support Fully Distributed multi-source Seek Forward functionality so that a user can jump ahead in the video, but still gets data from dozens of sources simultaneously.  While some previous P2P technologies can either enable seek-forward for the user to jump ahead in the video by falling back on the server or CDN for delivery, only Giraffic’s technology commits entirely to peer based video seek, making Giraffic’s Seek-Forward an industry first.  More features demonstrating Giraffic’s unique focus on Fully Distributed Video on Demand requirements - are expected to follow in the near future.
