1. What is Giraffic?

Giraffic is a Video and other Rich Multi-Media Streaming Acceleration software program, designed to increase the quality, speed and overall viewing experience.

2. Which operating systems Giraffic supports?

Giraffic Video Accelerator is supported on all major PC and Mobile operating systems: Windows, MAC, Linux Android and IOS, and is also available for proprietary integration for proprietary operating systems such as Set-top-Boxes, Media Streamers and Smart TV.

The Giraffic Global Video Accelerator version on PC and MAC is free and doesn’t require any additional integration or registration on the device or the content website. 3. How do I know if Giraffic really accelerates?

Look for the Giraffic Icon in the task bar while playing video on YouTube or Vimeo (or your favorite video site).

If the Icon is Green – it works. If not – it doesn’t, and you might want to check your internet settings.
Note that some systems hide tray icons, so make sure that the icon is not hidden.

 

Troubleshooting:

4. I don’t see the Giraffic Icon at all and it is not in the hidden icons.

Look for the “Giraffic Video Accelerator” in the Start menu, and run it.

 

5. Giraffic is not accelerating anything (The icon is not green while playing video on any site), what’s wrong?

Double click on the Giraffic Icon, and see if the Acceleration is enabled

.

  

6. Giraffic is always disabled, and when I try to press enable I get error message stating that it failed to change the automatic configuration script option.

    i. Make sure your browser is not configured using a Proxy Auto Configuration (PAC): Go to Control Panel -> Internet  Options ->Connections -> LAN Settings and make sure that the "Use automatic configuration script" option is not checked:

 

 

     ii. After you have verified that you don’t use an automatic proxy configuration – enable the Giraffic acceleration again.

 

7. Giraffic is enabled but still not accelerating anything.

Make sure that your browser is using the System Settings, and not other settings, and try different browsers (Internet Explorer / Mozilla Firefox / Google Chrome / Opera / Safari).

8. Why do I need Giraffic installed on my computer to be able to watch content on some video websites?

9. Will Giraffic slow down my internet speed?

Nope! Quite the contrary! The Giraffic application should be transparent to the user and improve the speed of downloads and streaming of videos from the websites using the Giraffic application.

The Giraffic application is very polite and non-disruptive. We sometimes use a small fraction of your upload bandwidth, typically about 10% (40-60 Kbps), and if we do, will always try to use your resources only when your computer is idle.

Giraffic’s application will automatically yield to anything else running on your computer, so if you’re surfing the web, or doing anything else which does not require the Giraffic video accelerator, we will step down and not use your bandwidth or computer resources at all.

 

10. Will Giraffic use all of my Hard Disk space?

Giraffic does use a small fraction of local disk space , but we will only utilize a small percentage of your current FREE space, but usually we won't take more than 500MB, so don't worry about it. If you are on a Mobile Device or Tablet - we are not using ANY of your disk space whatsoever to cache any data.

 

11. Does the Giraffic software contain any viruses, malware, adware or spyware?

Never! Our installer is clean as a whistle and is digitally signed by Thawte.

Giraffic software has been certified and signed by leading signage and software download sites  such as Softpedia.

 

12. Is Giraffic free?

Of course! Using Giraffic is free of charge.

 

13. Should I keep on downloading the latest version from Giraffic.com for the best experience?

Giraffic is smart enough to auto-update itself, so you can keep that off your mind. If you're running Giraffic, you're always running the latest and greatest version of The Giraffic Video Accelerator!

 

14. How do I remove Giraffic from my computer?

If you're not satisfied with Giraffic you can always remove it from the Add\Remove programs, just like any other application on your machine, and we guarantee that no trace of Giraffic software shall remain on your hard drive, registry or elsewhere

 

15. What if the Giraffic Video Accelerator is shut down or offline, can I still watch the video on the Giraffic enabled websites?

Typically Giraffic should always be running and connected as long as you have installed it and your computer is online.

If for any reason whatsoever the Giraffic software doesn’t work you are always guaranteed seamless fallback to the website’s regular video playback – without using Giraffic. 

If Giraffic is being blocked by a firewall software, your router or a corporate security system - Please manually open port 43261 on your firewall to enable it.

 

16. I have my own website and want to use Giraffic to distribute my media to end users, how do I connect to the Giraffic cloud?
